NHS watchdog suppressed internal review

The Guardian:

“The NHS watchdog engaged in a “cover-up” by suppressing an internal review into a maternity unit where police are also investigating the deaths of at least eight mothers and babies, an independent report has found.

Managers at the Care Quality Commission (CQC) moved to protect its reputation by deleting the review, which highlighted key failures in its inspections at the unit, according to early leaks of the report, due to be published this week.”

What action will be taken within the CQC?
