World In Action explains how a British asbestos manufacturer broke the law from 1940-1970 regarding work place conditions. The Cape Asbestos factory at Acre Mill, above Hebden Bridge, has been regarded as one of the UK’s biggest work place health disasters. Hundreds of people have suffered asbestosis and died early as a result of fibrosis or asbestos related cancer. The deaths still continue despite the factory closing in 1970.
